Shared funnels: versions of landing page and offer sets

How to save a stream's landing pages and offers as a funnel with versions and apply the version you need to campaign streams after reviewing the changes.

A shared funnel is a set of landing pages and offers from one stream, with their shares and selection settings, saved under its own name. The set is stored in versions: you write a version into campaign streams, and the section shows which version is applied to which stream. The Shared funnels («Общие воронки») section is in the main menu; on a phone, it's under the More («Ещё») button. The owner, admin, team lead and media buyer work with it.

A funnel describes one stream, not a chain of several streams. A shared funnel isn't the same thing as the Landing → offer funnel («Воронка ленд→оффер») stream action: it saves a stream's set with any of the three actions, Offer («Оффер»), Landing page («Лендинг») or Landing → offer funnel.

What a version contains

A version is a snapshot of the stream at the moment it is saved. It records:

  • the stream Action («Действие»): Offer, Landing page or Landing → offer funnel;
  • the landing pages and offers on the Rotation («Ротация») tab with their shares;
  • Selection mode («Режим выбора»), Remember visitor, hours («Запоминать посетителя, часов») and the order of items, see the page on selection modes;
  • the value of the When to choose the offer («Когда выбрать оффер») field, see When to choose the offer;
  • the Redirect method («Способ редиректа») value recorded in the stream. It doesn't apply to landing pages and offers, see Direct URL and redirect methods.

A version doesn't include:

  • the stream name, Stream type («Тип потока»), Weight («Вес») and position in the list;
  • the conditions on the Filters («Фильтры») tab;
  • schedule and click caps;
  • the stream state: enabled or paused;
  • the Hide click counter («Скрывать счётчик кликов») checkbox;
  • the landing pages and offers themselves. A version references them: an edit to a landing page or offer takes effect in all streams without a new version.

A version can't be changed. You can't delete a single version either: versions are deleted only together with the funnel, see Delete a funnel. To change the set, change the stream in the campaign and save it as a new version.

A stream template saves a stream together with its filters, schedule and caps, and creates a new stream from it. A shared funnel stores only landing pages, offers and their selection settings, and replaces them in an existing stream.

Who works with funnels

RoleWhich funnels they seeStreams of which campaigns they select
Owner («Владелец»), Admin («Администратор»)All team funnelsAny
Team lead («Тимлид Баеров»)Their own and those of team members assigned to themTheir own and campaigns of assigned team members
Buyer («Баер»)Their ownTheir own
Designer («Верстальщик»)No menu item. Via a direct link, the section shows “The section is unavailable for your role.” («Раздел недоступен для вашей роли.»)—
Financier («Финансист»)No menu item. A direct link opens the Reports («Отчёты») section—

Anyone who sees a funnel can save its versions, apply them, unlink streams and delete the funnel, unless their access is narrowed in the Permissions («Права») window. A team lead or media buyer deletes a funnel only if they can edit every campaign whose stream it's applied to, see Delete a funnel.

  • A funnel belongs to the team member who created it, from here on called the funnel holder. You can't transfer a funnel to another team member or open access to it. The holder changes only when a user is deleted, see Funnels of a deleted user.
  • Team leads and media buyers don't see a funnel of the owner or admin. To give a media buyer a funnel, create it under their account, see Log in as a user. The source stream then comes from the media buyer's own campaign, and its landing pages and offers must be available to that media buyer.
  • A team lead who saved a new version of their team member's funnel doesn't become its holder.
  • A campaign shared with you through the Share («Поделиться») button doesn't work for funnels: its stream can't be saved to a funnel or changed by a version, see Who can edit a campaign.

How to assign team members to a team lead is covered in Team lead and their media buyers.

Funnel landing pages and offers

A team lead and a media buyer see a funnel in the list as long as all landing pages and offers of its latest version are available.

  • A landing page or offer went to the trash: the funnel disappears from the list for the team lead and the media buyer.
  • A media buyer lost access to someone else's landing page or offer: the funnel disappears from the media buyer's list. A media buyer has access to their own landing pages and offers and to those opened to them with the Access («Доступ») button, see Landing pages and Offers.

The funnel comes back to the list when the landing page or offer is restored, access is opened again, or a new version without that item is saved. In the meantime, only someone who still has the funnel in their list can save a new version: the owner or admin, and, if the landing page or offer is closed only to the media buyer, also their team lead. The owner and admin always see such a funnel.

The same is checked when you create a funnel, save a version, review changes and apply: a set with an unavailable landing page or offer is not saved and not applied.

Funnels of a deleted user

When a user is deleted, their funnels pass to a new holder together with their campaigns, offers and landing pages:

  • if the user was assigned to a team lead, to that team lead;
  • if there was no team lead, to whoever deleted the user.

Versions and links to streams are kept. The new holder works with the funnel as their own: saves versions, applies them, unlinks streams and deletes the funnel.

Funnels without a holder

A funnel without a holder may be left over from an earlier tracker version: previously, a deleted user's funnels didn't pass to anyone. Only the owner and admin see such funnels: they apply them, save their versions and delete them. Team leads and media buyers don't see such funnels.

Restrictions from the Permissions window

The owner and admin can narrow a team lead's or media buyer's access in the Permissions window, see User permissions.

Setting in the Permissions windowWhat changes in the section
Shared funnels: No access («Нет доступа»)The item disappears from the menu. Via a direct link, the section shows “Access to the section is restricted by the administrator” («Доступ к разделу ограничен администратором»)
Shared funnels: View («Просмотр»)The list and funnels open. Creating a funnel, saving a version, View changes («Посмотреть изменения»), applying, unlinking and deleting a funnel respond with “Access to the section is restricted by the administrator”
Campaigns («Кампании»): ViewThe same actions are blocked with the message “Section unavailable: check your role, campaign access and statistics restrictions” («Раздел недоступен: проверьте роль, доступ к кампаниям и ограничения статистики»)
Campaigns, Offers («Офферы») or Landing pages («Лендинги»): No accessThe menu item stays, but the section doesn't load: one of the two messages above is shown
Limit campaign groups («Ограничить группы кампаний»)The Campaign («Кампания») list and the Connected streams («Подключённые потоки») block keep only campaigns of allowed groups

The View value for the Offers and Landing pages sections doesn't affect shared funnels.

Create a funnel

A funnel is created from an existing stream. First, in a campaign you can edit, build a stream with the landing pages, offers and shares you need, see Rotation and split tests.

  1. Open Shared funnels in the main menu. On a phone, tap More and select Shared funnels.
  2. Click + Funnel («+ Воронка»). On a phone, tap the + button above the bottom bar. The New shared funnel («Новая общая воронка») form opens.
  3. Fill in Name («Название»).
  4. In the Campaign list, select the campaign with the source stream.
  5. In the Stream («Поток») list, select the stream.
  6. Click Create from the selected stream («Создать из выбранного потока»).

You'll see the message “Version saved. Streams didn't change.” («Версия сохранена. Потоки не изменились.»). The funnel becomes first in the funnel list with a caption like “Version 1 · offers 2 · landing pages 1” («Версия 1 · офферов 2 · лендингов 1») and opens.

The source stream doesn't change and isn't linked to the funnel: the Connected streams block says “No links yet.” («Связей пока нет.»).

FieldWhat to enter
NameThe funnel name, from 1 to 120 characters. For a new funnel, the field is empty
CampaignThe campaign that contains the stream. Until it's selected, the field shows “Select a campaign” («Выберите кампанию»). The list shows the first 200 campaigns, newest on top. If there are more campaigns, a More campaigns (200 / N) («Ещё кампании (200 / N)») button appears below the fields; it adds the next 200
StreamA stream of the selected campaign with the Offer, Landing page or Landing → offer funnel action. The list fills in after you select a campaign; until then, the field shows “Select a stream” («Выберите поток»). The list includes all campaign streams, including disabled ones

Until a stream is selected or while the name is empty, the Create from the selected stream button is inactive. While there are no funnels, the funnel list says “No saved funnels.” («Сохранённых воронок нет.»).

Release a new version

A new version is also a snapshot of a stream. Change the source stream in the campaign or prepare another stream, then:

  1. Click the funnel in the funnel list.
  2. Change the Name if needed. The funnel is renamed only together with a new version.
  3. In the Campaign and Stream lists, select the stream the set is taken from.
  4. Click Save the selected stream as a new version («Сохранить выбранный поток как новую версию»).

You'll see the message “Version saved. Streams didn't change.” The version number increases by 1, and the earlier versions stay in the Version to apply («Версия для применения») list.

Streams that have an earlier version applied don't change from the new version. They keep working with the earlier set until you apply the new version to each of them. In the Connected streams block, such streams have the note “Newer available” («Есть новая») under the version number.

Warning.

The Save the selected stream as a new version and View changes buttons work with the same selected stream. The first writes the set from the stream into the funnel, the second prepares writing the set from the funnel into the stream. Before clicking, check which stream is selected: you can't delete a single saved version, only the whole funnel.

Apply a version to a stream

  1. Click the funnel in the funnel list.
  2. In the Campaign and Stream lists, select the stream the set will be written to.
  3. In the Version to apply list, select the version number. The latest one is selected by default; its number has “latest” («последняя») next to it.
  4. Click View changes. A block appears with the campaign and stream names and two columns: Now («Сейчас») and After applying version N («После применения версии N»).
  5. Compare the columns.
  6. Click Apply to this stream («Применить к этому потоку»).

You'll see the message “Version applied. Stream state kept.” («Версия применена. Состояние потока сохранено.»), and the stream is added to the Connected streams block.

  • A version is applied to one stream at a time. To update several streams, repeat the steps for each.
  • You can bring back the set of an earlier version the same way: select its number in the Version to apply list. The funnel doesn't store the set the stream had before applying: if you might need it, save the stream as a version beforehand.
  • If after reviewing you select another campaign, stream or version, the comparison block disappears. Click View changes again.
  • You can't apply a version to a stream of a campaign with the “archived” («архив») status.
Warning.

The set is written into an enabled stream too: applying doesn't require a pause and doesn't set one by itself. Traffic gets the new landing pages and offers the same way as after saving a stream, see When changes take effect.

What the comparison shows

The Now column is the stream's set at the moment you clicked View changes; the After applying version N column is the set from the version. Each column shows:

  • Landing pages: the name and share of each landing page. An empty list is marked “No landing page” («Без лендинга»);
  • Offers: the name and share of each offer. An empty list is marked “No offers” («Нет офферов»);
  • “Action: …” («Действие: …»): the stream action under the same name as in the Action field of the Stream settings («Настройки потока») window, for example “Action: Offer” («Действие: Оффер»), see List of actions;
  • for the Landing → offer funnel action, the same line shows when the offer is selected, for example “Action: Landing → offer funnel · offer selected on click” («Действие: Воронка ленд→оффер · выбор оффера при клике»). The words “offer selected after the landing page” («выбор оффера после лендинга») mean the After a click on the landing page · the choice is fixed before the redirect («После клика на лендинге · выбор фиксируется перед переходом») option of the When to choose the offer field; “offer selected on click” means all other cases;
  • “Selection mode: …” («Режим выбора: …»): By weight («По долям»), Unvisited, by weight («Непосещённые по долям») or Sequential («Последовательно»). For the last two, the same line shows the period from the Remember visitor, hours field, for example “Selection mode: Sequential · remember visitor 24 h” («Режим выбора: Последовательно · запоминать посетителя 24 ч»);
  • Delivery («Доставка»): the redirect method recorded in the stream: redirect, meta, js, direct or double_meta. If it isn't recorded, “per target setting” («по настройке цели»). This line doesn't affect landing pages and offers.

Shares are shown as numbers, as on the Rotation tab, not as percentages. If a landing page or offer is deleted or unavailable to you, its ID is shown instead of the name.

In the Sequential mode, landing pages and offers are listed in the order they're cycled through and numbered: “1. ”, “2. ” before the name. In the other modes, the order of lines in the comparison means nothing.

If the stream currently has an action without a set, for example Direct URL («Прямой URL»), the Now column names it as is: “Action: Direct URL” («Действие: Прямой URL»). There's no “Selection mode” line in such a column. After applying, the stream gets the action and selection mode from the version.

An empty landing page list is the normal state of a set with the Offer action, and an empty offer list is normal for a set with the Landing page action. If the list the action needs is empty, after applying the stream answers visitors with 404, see Error responses.

What changes in the stream

From the version, the following is written into the stream:

  • Action. It becomes the same as in the version, even if the stream had a different one before, for example Direct URL;
  • landing pages and offers with shares. The set is replaced as a whole: landing pages and offers that aren't in the version are removed from the stream;
  • Selection mode, Remember visitor, hours and the order of items;
  • the When to choose the offer and Redirect method values.

The following stays as it was in the stream:

  • the name, Stream type, Weight and position in the list;
  • the state: an enabled stream stays enabled, a paused stream stays paused;
  • the conditions on the Filters tab, schedule and click caps;
  • the Hide click counter checkbox.

A stream has one link to a funnel. If the stream was linked to another funnel, after applying it's counted under the new one.

If the stream changed after the review

When you click Apply to this stream, the tracker compares the stream with what was shown in the Now column.

  • The action, landing pages, offers, shares, selection settings or, for a stream with the Direct URL action, the Redirect method value changed: the version isn't applied, with “The stream changed after the review. Review the changes again” («Поток изменился после просмотра. Проверьте изменения заново»). Click View changes again.
  • The name, filters, schedule, caps, weight, stream state or Destination URL («URL назначения») changed: the version is applied, and these settings stay as they currently are.
  • More than 10 minutes passed after the review: “Review the changes first” («Сначала просмотрите изменения»). Click View changes again.

Versions don't change: the selected number always holds the same set, even if a new funnel version was saved after the review.

The Connected streams block of an open funnel is a table of streams its versions are applied to. Rows are sorted by campaign name.

ColumnWhat it shows
Campaign / stream («Кампания / поток»)The campaign name, which links to its page, and the stream name
Version («Версия»)The number of the applied version. The “Newer available” note means the funnel has a version with a higher number
Last columnThe Unlink («Отвязать») button

A team lead and a media buyer see in the table only streams of campaigns they can edit themselves. Streams of other campaigns are hidden from them.

A link is a record of which version is applied to a stream. It doesn't affect traffic: a linked and an unlinked stream work the same way.

  • The campaign page doesn't show the link: there's no funnel note in the stream card or in the Stream settings window.
  • Editing the stream in the campaign doesn't remove the link. The table keeps the number of the applied version, even if the stream's landing pages and offers are already different.
  • A stream copy is created without a link.
  • The link disappears when the stream is deleted and when the funnel is deleted.

To unlink a stream:

  1. Click the funnel in the funnel list.
  2. In the Connected streams block, click Unlink in the stream's row.

There's no confirmation. You'll see the message “Link removed. Stream settings kept.” («Связь удалена. Настройки потока сохранены.»). The stream disappears from the table; its landing pages, offers and other settings don't change.

If the stream is already deleted, unlinked or linked to another funnel, for example by another team member while the page was open, the Unlink button responds with “Link not found: the stream is already unlinked, deleted or linked to another funnel. Refresh the page” («Связь не найдена: поток уже отвязан, удалён или привязан к другой воронке. Обновите страницу»). The panel rereads the Connected streams block by itself: the row of that stream is no longer there.

Delete a funnel

Together with the funnel, all its versions and links to streams are deleted. Streams don't change: their landing pages, offers and other settings stay as they were, and deletion doesn't affect traffic.

  1. Click the funnel in the funnel list.
  2. Click Delete («Удалить») to the right of the funnel name.
  3. Confirm the question “Delete funnel ‘…’, all its versions and links to streams (N)? Landing pages and offers of the streams won't change.” («Удалить воронку «…», все её версии и связи с потоками (N)? Лендинги и офферы потоков не изменятся.») N is the number of rows in the Connected streams block. If there are no rows, the question is shorter: “Delete funnel ‘…’ and all its versions?” («Удалить воронку «…» и все её версии?»)

You'll see the message “Funnel deleted. Streams didn't change.” («Воронка удалена. Потоки не изменились.»). The funnel disappears from the funnel list.

Who deletes a funnel:

  • the owner and admin: any funnel;
  • a team lead and a media buyer: a funnel they see, if they can edit every campaign whose stream it's applied to. Otherwise the tracker responds with “The funnel is applied to streams of campaigns you can't access. The owner or admin can delete it” («Воронка применена к потокам кампаний, которые вам недоступны. Удалить её может владелец или администратор»). Streams of such campaigns aren't shown to you in the Connected streams block, and the number in the question doesn't count them.

Deletion is also rejected if another team member saved a new funnel version while the page was open: “The funnel has a new version. Refresh the page” («У воронки появилась новая версия. Обновите страницу»).

Warning.

A deleted funnel can't be restored: funnels have no trash or archive. If you'll need the set again, save it anew from the stream it remains in, see Create a funnel.

Limits

  • Up to 200 funnels per team. Funnels of all team members count.
  • Up to 500 versions per funnel.
  • Up to 200 offers and up to 200 landing pages per version, each share from 0 to 1 000 000 000.
  • The funnel name is from 1 to 120 characters.
  • A change review is valid for 10 minutes.
  • The Connected streams block shows up to 1000 streams.
  • A stream has one link: to one version of one funnel.
  • A version is applied to one stream at a time. There's no applying to several streams at once.

Check

  1. Open the funnel and find the stream in the Connected streams block. The Version column shows the applied number.
  2. Click the campaign name in that row.
  3. In the stream card, check the line with the type and action and the Rotation · A/B («Ротация · A/B») block: it shows the version's landing pages and offers. Shares in the card are shown as percentages.
  4. Make sure the stream toggle stayed in its previous position.
  5. Click the gear button in the stream card and, on the Rotation tab, compare the Selection mode with the After applying version N column. For the Unvisited, by weight and Sequential modes, also compare the Remember visitor, hours field, and for the Sequential mode, the order of rows.

The owner and admin find the section's actions in the Audit log by the shared-funnels resource: create is a new funnel, a change review and applying a version, update is a new version, delete is unlinking a stream and deleting a funnel. Both delete records have the funnel ID in the ID column.

Error messages

The error text is shown above the funnel list. If an action is rejected, funnels and streams stay unchanged. A message can also appear after a completed action, when the panel couldn't refresh the data: refresh the page and check the Connected streams block.

Access to the section is restricted by the administrator

The Permissions window has No access or View set for the Shared funnels section, or the Campaigns, Offers or Landing pages section is closed. What each value blocks is covered in Restrictions from the Permissions window. The owner and admin change access.

Section unavailable: check your role, campaign access and statistics restrictions

In the Permissions window, the Campaigns, Offers or Landing pages section is closed, or the Campaigns section is set to View and you're trying to change something. Contact the owner or admin.

Campaign unavailable

This message («Кампания недоступна») means you selected a stream of a campaign you can't edit: it was shared with you through the Share button, or your access to it changed while the page was open. Select a campaign you can edit.

Campaign archived

This message («Кампания в архиве») means the campaign of the selected stream has the “archived” status. Return it to work, see Restore from the campaign list, or select a stream of another campaign. You can save a stream of an archived campaign to a funnel, but you can't apply a version to it.

A shared funnel needs a stream with offers or landing pages

This message («Для общей воронки нужен поток с офферами или лендингами») means that when creating a funnel or saving a version, you selected a stream with the Direct URL, HTML, Show text («Показать текст»), Send to campaign («Передать в кампанию»), 404 stub («Заглушка 404») or Nothing (empty response) («Ничего (пустой ответ)») action. Select a stream with the Offer, Landing page or Landing → offer funnel action.

“offer unavailable: …” and “landing page unavailable: …”

In the messages “offer unavailable: …” («оффер недоступен: …») and “landing page unavailable: …” («лендинг недоступен: …»), the colon is followed by the full ID of the offer or landing page. It's in the trash or, if you're a media buyer, belongs to another team member and isn't opened to you. The message appears when you create a funnel or save a version, if such an item is in the stream, and for the owner and admin also when reviewing changes, if it's in the version.

  • Restore a deleted page from the trash.
  • Access to someone else's landing page or offer is opened with the Access button, see Landing pages and Offers.
  • Or remove the item from the stream and save the stream as a new version.

Your own Offers and Landing pages sections don't show such an item: pages from the trash and pages closed to you aren't shown in the lists. In the source stream card, in the Rotation · A/B block, it appears without a name: the first 8 characters of the ID are shown instead. The owner and admin find the deletion record in the Audit log: enter the ID in the Find («Найти») field.

Funnel unavailable

This message («Воронка недоступна») is seen by a team lead and a media buyer. A landing page or offer of the selected version went to the trash or is closed to you, or the funnel is no longer yours: for example, a team member was unassigned from the team lead. Refresh the page. If the message appears after you select an earlier version, select another version. The conditions are covered in Funnel landing pages and offers.

Version changed or library limit reached (200 funnels / 500 versions)

Action not available with your current permissions

This message («Действие недоступно для текущих прав») means your permissions changed while the page was open: the funnel, the stream's campaign or one of the landing pages and offers is no longer available to you. Refresh the page.

resource not found

While the page was open, what you're working with was deleted:

  • the selected stream: the message appears when you create a funnel, save a version, review changes and apply;
  • the funnel itself: the message appears when you click it in the funnel list, save a version, review changes and apply.

Refresh the page.

Link not found: the stream is already unlinked, deleted or linked to another funnel. Refresh the page

The message appears when you click Unlink. The stream from the Connected streams block is already deleted, unlinked or linked to another funnel, for example by another team member while the page was open. The link no longer exists and you don't need to do anything: the panel rereads the Connected streams block by itself, and the row of that stream disappears from it.

The Unlink button responds the same way if the funnel itself was deleted. In that case the block stays as it was: refresh the page.

The funnel is applied to streams of campaigns you can't access. The owner or admin can delete it

A team lead and a media buyer see this message when they click Delete. A version of the funnel is applied to a stream of a campaign you can't edit: for example, a team lead applied a media buyer's funnel to a stream of their own campaign, a team member with such a campaign was unassigned from the team lead, or the campaign's group isn't allowed for you. Such streams aren't shown to you in the Connected streams block. Ask the owner or admin to delete the funnel.

The funnel has a new version. Refresh the page

The message appears when you click Delete: while the page was open, another team member saved a new version of the funnel. Refresh the page, open the funnel, check the new version and, if you still don't need the funnel, delete it.

Funnel not found: it may have been deleted already. Refresh the page

This message («Воронка не найдена: возможно, её уже удалили. Обновите страницу») appears when you click Delete: another team member has already deleted the funnel. Refresh the page; the funnel is no longer in the list.

internal error

A server failure: repeat the action.

Stream settings size exceeded

This message («Превышен размер настроек потока») means that when creating a funnel or saving a version, the source stream has more than 200 offers or more than 200 landing pages. Remove the extra items from the stream.

Invalid or duplicate stream target

This message («Некорректная или повторяющаяся цель потока») means that when creating a funnel or saving a version, the share of a landing page or offer in the source stream is less than 0 or greater than 1 000 000 000. Fix the share on the Rotation tab and save the stream.
