Period comparison and daily trend
How to compare a report with the previous period by totals and by row, and how to see a daily chart of a metric.
Comparison and the chart are built from an already assembled report: they take its period, columns, filters, attribution and time zone. First build the report in the builder, then open the block you need below the table. After you change the report settings, both blocks close — open them again.
Comparison with the previous period
- Build a report in Reports → Builder («Отчёты → Конструктор»).
- Below the table, check Compare with previous period («Сравнить с предыдущим периодом»).
- In the mode list, select Overall totals («Общие итоги») or By rows («По строкам»). The default is Overall totals.
Next to the mode list is the line “Previous: … — …” («Предыдущий: … — …»): the boundaries of the period being compared with, and the report's time zone.
The same checkbox is on the Report («Отчёт») tab in campaign statistics.
How the previous period is defined
The previous period has the same length as the current one and ends right before it starts. You cannot choose a different period for comparison.
| Report period | Compared with |
|---|---|
| Date range («Интервал дат»), September 8–14 | September 1–7 |
| Today («Сегодня») at 15:00 | Yesterday from 09:00 to the end of the day |
Length is measured in time, not by the calendar. The Today, This week («Текущая неделя»), This month («Текущий месяц») and This year («Текущий год») periods end at the current moment and are compared with a stretch of the same length before their start. A 30-day month is compared with the 30 days before it.
Filters, attribution and time zone are the same for both periods. How the boundaries of the current period are set is described on the Period, time zone and attribution page.
The “Overall totals” mode
A table of four columns: Metric («Метрика»), Current («Текущий»), Previous («Предыдущий»), Change («Изменение»). It has one row for each report column. The values are the report's Total («Итого») row for each period: it is calculated over all rows, not over the open page.
The “By rows” mode
- Select the By rows mode.
- In the second list, select a metric. The list has the report columns; the first one is selected by default.
The table has the columns Group («Группа»), Current, Previous and Change. The rows are the report's groups. Values of several groupings in the Group column are separated by a slash.
- The table includes all groups from both periods. If a group had data in only one period, it has zero in the other.
- Filters apply to each period separately. A group that passed a metric filter in only one period is shown with zero in the other.
- Sorting is as in the report, by the values of the current period.
- There are 25 rows per page. Use the ← Back («← Назад») and Next → («Далее →») buttons to switch pages; between them is a counter like “1–25 of 140” («1–25 из 140»).
Calendar groupings
Calendar groupings are Day and hour («День и час»), Day («День»), Week («Неделя»), Month («Месяц») and Year («Год»); in campaign statistics, Days («Дни»). With them, intervals are matched in order: the first interval of the current period with the first interval of the previous one, the second with the second. Under the group name there is a line “Earlier: …” («Ранее: …») with the interval of the previous period.
Example: a daily report for September 8–14. The row 2026-09-08 is compared with 2026-09-01, and the row 2026-09-09 with 2026-09-02.
An interval without events does not shift the others. If an interval had no events in one of the periods, “No data” («Нет данных») is written instead of its date. The first and last intervals may be incomplete.
How to read the “Change” column
The column has two values separated by ·: the difference and the relative change. For example, +120 · +25%.
| Part | How it is calculated |
|---|---|
| Difference | The current value minus the previous one. Money metrics are labeled USD, percentage metrics п.п. (percentage points) |
| Percent | The difference divided by the absolute value of the previous value, as a percentage |
— instead of a percent | The previous value is zero and the current one is not |
0% | The values are equal, including when both are zero |
The difference is shown in percentage points for ROI, ROI (exp.) («ROI (ожид.)»), CR, Approval («Аппрув») and LP CTR. If CR rose from 2% to 3%, the difference is +1 п.п. and the change is +50%. Metric formulas are on the Report metrics and formulas page.
Comparison CSV
The export button is available only in the By rows mode.
- Click CSV of all rows ↓ («CSV всех строк ↓»).
- Wait for the Ready («Готово») status in the expanded CSV exports («Выгрузки CSV») block, in the row with the Period comparison («Сравнение периодов») type.
- Click Download CSV («Скачать CSV»).
The file includes all comparison rows and all report columns, not the open page with one metric. The file is generated in the background and kept for 24 hours — for details, see Saved reports and CSV export.
File columns
current_from,current_to— the current period boundaries in UTC.previous_from,previous_to— the previous period boundaries in UTC.timezone— the report's time zone.attribution—clickorconversion.currency— alwaysUSD.- The report's grouping columns. A calendar grouping is followed by a column ending in
_previous, for exampleday_previous— the interval of the previous period. - Four columns for each metric:
clicks_current,clicks_previous,clicks_delta,clicks_change_percent.
An empty _change_percent cell means that the previous value is zero and the current one is not. The difference of percentage metrics in _delta is in percentage points.
The “Daily trend” chart
The chart is available only in the Reports section, between the table and the comparison checkbox.
- Click Daily trend («Динамика по дням»).
- Select a metric in the list. The list has the report columns; the first one is selected by default.
The tracker draws a line of the metric's values by day for the report period. The report's groupings do not affect the chart; filters, attribution and time zone are the same. A metric filter applies to each day.
The first and last dates are labeled under the chart. Hover over a point to see the date and the value. The Values («Значения») block expands a list of all days with numbers.
Days without events are not added to the chart: the line connects neighboring days with data.
Limits
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Period in the By rows mode and in comparison CSV | No longer than 366 days |
| Calendar groupings in the By rows mode | No more than one. Day of week («День недели») and Hour («Час») are not calendar groupings |
| Number of groups in the By rows mode | Up to 100,000 in each period |
| Rows in comparison CSV | Up to 100,000 |
| Chart | Up to 1000 days with data |
Period and grouping limits do not apply to the Overall totals mode.
If something went wrong
comparison requires a valid period of at most 366 days
The report period is longer than 366 days, for example All time («За всё время»). Shorten the period or switch to the Overall totals mode.
select one calendar grouping for comparison («для сравнения выберите одну календарную группировку»)
The report has several calendar groupings, for example Month and Day. Keep one.
export exceeds 100000 rows; narrow the report filters
One of the periods has more than 100,000 groups. Add filters or remove a grouping with many values.
Select a period of up to 1000 days for the chart («Для графика выберите период до 1000 дней»)
The period has more than 1000 days with data. Shorten the report period.
The exports list shows the “Error” («Ошибка») status
The reason is shown under the status. Error texts and what to do are covered on the Saved reports and CSV export page.
