Campaign archive and trash
How to archive a campaign, what happens to its link and how to bring the campaign back into use.
A campaign has three statuses: “active” («активна»), “paused” («пауза») and “archived” («архив»). Archiving replaces deletion: the campaign stops accepting traffic, but its settings, streams and statistics are kept.
Archiving a campaign
From the campaign list
- Open the Campaigns («Кампании») section.
- Select the campaigns you need with the checkboxes.
- Click To archive («В архив»).
- Confirm the prompt “Archive the selected campaigns (N)?” («Архивировать выбранные кампании (N)?»).
The result “Done N of M” («Выполнено N из M») appears under the buttons. How to read it if some campaigns were not processed is covered on the Bulk actions and campaign cloning page.
From the campaign page
- Open the campaign.
- Click Edit («Изменить»).
- In the “Edit campaign” («Изменить кампанию») window, choose the “archived” value in the Status («Статус») field.
- Click Save («Сохранить»).
This window has no confirmation prompt.
What happens to the link
The campaign link works only in the “active” status. While the campaign is paused or archived, following the link gets a 404 response: the visitor does not enter any stream, and the click is not recorded in statistics. The new status starts affecting traffic within about 15 seconds after saving.
Before archiving, make sure no traffic is going to the campaign link. Every visit to an archived campaign will get a 404 response.
The archive keeps the campaign's settings, its streams and its alias. Statistics collected before archiving remain in reports. The tracker accepts postbacks for clicks made before archiving as usual.
Where to find an archived campaign
- The Campaigns section: the campaign shows “archived” in the Status column. The list shows campaigns in all statuses.
- The Trash («Корзина») section: a row with the “Campaign” («Кампания») type. In the Deleted («Удалено») column, the campaign shows the date and time of its last change.
The trash also holds deleted offers and landing pages — they are covered on the Page trash page.
Who archives and restores
- A campaign's status, including archiving and restoring it, can be changed by the user the campaign belongs to, their team lead, the admin or the owner.
- A campaign shared with you with the Share («Поделиться») button is open for viewing only: you cannot change its status. More details are on the Campaign access and “Share” page.
- If you have View («Просмотр») access to the Campaigns section, you cannot change the status of any campaign — see User permissions.
- Owners and admins see the Trash item in the Admin panel («Админ-панель»). They can restore any campaign from the trash. Who else can open the trash is covered on the Trash page.
Restoring from the trash
- Click the Admin panel icon in the top right.
- Choose Trash.
- Find the campaign: type part of its name in the Search by name («Найти по названию») field or choose Campaign in the type list.
- Click Restore («Восстановить») in the campaign's row.
- Confirm the prompt “Restore the item? The campaign and the offer will come back paused. The landing page will be available again in the linked streams.” («Восстановить объект? Кампания и оффер вернутся на паузе. Лендинг снова станет доступен в связанных потоках.»)
The campaign disappears from the trash and gets the “paused” status. The link does not work yet — enable the campaign as described below.
Restoring from the campaign list
You do not have to use the trash: an archived campaign can be enabled right from the list.
- Open the Campaigns section.
- Select the archived campaign with its checkbox.
- Click Enable («Включить»).
The status becomes “active”. Clicking Pause («Пауза») instead of Enable sets the campaign to “paused”.
On the campaign page, you can do the same with these buttons:
- Start («Запустить») — the status becomes “active”;
- Edit — choose the value you need in the Status field and click Save.
The Select all («Выбрать все») checkbox also selects archived campaigns. The Pause and Enable buttons will change their status too.
Checking the result
- Open the Campaigns section.
- Make sure the campaign shows “active” in the Status column.
- Wait 15 seconds.
- Open the campaign link in a browser.
The visit should go to one of the campaign's streams. If the link still returns 404, check the campaign's streams — see Stream selection check.
Frequently asked questions
How do I delete a campaign permanently?
There is no permanent deletion of campaigns. An archived campaign does not accept traffic and remains in the list and in the trash until you bring it back into use. A request to delete a campaign through the Admin API also moves it to the archive — see Admin API: campaigns.
I restored a campaign, but the link returns 404
After being restored from the trash, the campaign is paused. Click Start on the campaign page, or select the campaign in the list and click Enable. Check the link again after 15 seconds.
The “To archive” and “Enable” buttons are inactive
No campaign is selected, the previous action is still running, or the selection includes a campaign open to you for viewing only. How to find such a campaign is covered on the Bulk actions and campaign cloning page.
a campaign with this alias already exists («кампания с таким alias уже есть»)
The message appears when you create or save a campaign if the alias is taken by another campaign, including an archived one. Set a different alias. If you need exactly this link, bring the archived campaign back into use.
