Period, time zone and attribution
The boundaries of each report period, the time zone used to count days, and the date a conversion is assigned to.
The period, time zone and attribution are set in the report builder: Reports → Builder («Отчёты → Конструктор»). The period and time zone are chosen with the button showing the period name in the top row, attribution in the Date («Дата») list in the More («Ещё») block. The line under the buttons shows the report view, attribution and time zone.
Periods and their boundaries
Click the period button and select a row in the list. A preset period is applied immediately. The default is Last 7 days («Последние 7 дней»).
| Period | From | To |
|---|---|---|
| Today («Сегодня») | Start of the current day | The current moment |
| Yesterday («Вчера») | Start of yesterday | End of yesterday |
| This week («Текущая неделя») | Start of Monday of the current week | The current moment |
| Last 7 days | 7 × 24 hours ago | The current moment |
| This month («Текущий месяц») | Start of the 1st | The current moment |
| Previous month («Предыдущий месяц») | Start of the 1st of last month | End of the last day of last month |
| Last 30 days («Последние 30 дней») | 30 × 24 hours ago | The current moment |
| This year («Текущий год») | Start of January 1 | The current moment |
| All time («За всё время») | January 1, 2000 | The current moment |
Days, weeks, months and years start according to the report's time zone. The current moment is taken anew each time the report is calculated.
Last 7 days and Last 30 days are counted from the current minute, not from midnight. In a daily breakdown, the first day of such a report is incomplete. For whole days, choose Date range («Интервал дат»).
Date range and time range
Custom boundaries are set with the Date range and Time range («Интервал времени») items in the same list.
- Click the period button.
- Select Date range. Two date fields appear under the list.
- Enter the first and the last day in them. The first date must be no later than the second.
- Click Apply («Применить»).
The report covers the time from the start of the first day to the end of the last one.
Time range is set the same way. The two fields take a date and time to the minute; the start must be no later than the end.
The period button shows the selected dates instead of a name. The Cancel («Отмена») button closes the window without changes.
Report time zone
The Time zone («Часовой пояс») field is in the period window under the list.
- Click the period button.
- Start typing a zone name or offset in the Time zone field, for example
Europe/MoscoworGMT+3. - Select a row in the list.
- Click Apply.
If you click a preset period after choosing the zone, the zone is applied together with it.
The time zone affects:
- period boundaries: the start of a day, week, month and year;
- the groupings of the Calendar («Календарь») block: Year («Год»), Month («Месяц»), Week («Неделя»), Day of week («День недели»), Day («День»), Hour («Час»), Day and hour («День и час»). The week starts on Monday;
- the day uploaded spend belongs to — see Report metrics and formulas.
The same click can fall on different days in different time zones.
The selected zone and its offset from GMT are shown on the period button. The zone the report was calculated in is shown in the More block next to the Date list.
The dashboard, campaign statistics and the metrics in the campaign, offer and landing page lists are calculated in the browser's time zone.
Time zone for new reports
A new report opens in the browser's time zone. Your own zone for new reports is set in the My profile («Мой профиль») window: the Time zone for new reports («Таймзона новых отчётов») field and the Save time zone («Сохранить таймзону») button. An empty field means the browser's zone. The steps and the rules for the value are on the My profile: password and time zone page.
This setting is personal. The builder automatically remembers a draft in the browser — the user's last report settings. The zone from the profile is applied when there is no draft in this browser yet. If there is a draft, the report opens with its own period and zone — the profile setting does not change them. Saved reports also keep their own zone. In an open report, you change the zone with the period button.
Attribution: click date or conversion date
A conversion arrives later than the click, sometimes several days later. Attribution determines which date the report assigns a conversion and its revenue to. You choose it in the Date list: Reports → More → Date.
| Value | What it means |
|---|---|
| As configured («По настройке») | The report takes attribution from the tracker settings. Selected by default |
| Click («Клик») | Conversions are assigned to the date of their click |
| Conversion («Конверсия») | Conversions are assigned to the date when the tracker received the conversion or its latest change |
The applied attribution is visible in the line under the buttons: “By click date” («По дате клика») or “By conversion date” («По дате конверсии»).
A report opened from the campaign list or from campaign statistics is set to the Click date right away.
What is counted by which date
| Metric | Click | Conversion |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks («Клики»), Uniq. («Уник.»), Bots («Боты»), LP clicks («LP-клики») | Click time | Click time |
| Click cost | Click time | Click time |
| Conv. («Конв.»), Leads («Лиды»), Sales («Продажи»), Rej. («Отклон.») | Click time | Conversion time |
| Revenue («Доход»), Revenue (exp.) («Доход (ожид.)») | Click time | Conversion time |
| Conversion cost: CPA, CPS, RevShare models | Click time | Conversion time |
Conversion time is the time of its latest change. A status change and a payout correction with the same transaction ID move the conversion to the day of the change — see Transaction ID, duplicates and corrections. If a lead from October 1 became a sale on October 3, with Conversion attribution the sale falls on October 3, and the report for October 1 will not have this conversion.
Example: a click on September 28, a sale from it on October 2.
- Click: the sale and revenue are visible in the report for September 28. The report for October 2 does not have them.
- Conversion: the click is visible in the report for September 28, the sale and revenue in the report for October 2.
How the numbers change
With Click attribution, the numbers for past days change while conversions keep arriving for those days' clicks and their statuses get updated. CR, ROI and EPC show the result of exactly the clicks that fell into the period.
With Conversion attribution, the period includes conversions received or changed in that period. Their clicks may have been made before it started, so:
- a row can have conversions and revenue with zero clicks;
- CR, EPC, CPA and ROI compare the period's clicks with the period's conversions, not with the conversions of those same clicks;
- calendar groupings put a click into a row by click time and a conversion into a row by conversion time.
Metric formulas are on the Report metrics and formulas page.
Default attribution for the whole tracker
Owners and admins can see this setting.
- Open Settings → General («Настройки → Основные»).
- In the Report attribution («Атрибуция отчётов») list, select By click date or By conversion date. It is initially set to By click date.
- Click Save («Сохранить»). The message “Saved” («Сохранено») appears.
The setting applies:
- to builder reports where the Date list is set to As configured;
- to the dashboard, campaign statistics and the metrics in the lists — you cannot choose attribution there.
Reports where the Date list is set to Click or Conversion do not depend on the setting. The other parameters of the tab are on the Settings: general parameters and bot lists page.
FAQ
Why did yesterday's numbers change
With attribution by click date, new conversions arrived for yesterday's clicks, or their status changed. With attribution by conversion date, yesterday's conversion got a new status or a payout correction and moved to the day of the change.
Why the report does not match the dashboard
The dashboard calculates in the browser's time zone and with the attribution from the tracker settings. In the report, choose the browser's time zone, As configured in the Date list and the same period. The dashboard's 7d («7д») and 30d («30д») buttons correspond to the Last 7 days and Last 30 days periods.
What happens to the period in a saved report
A preset period is saved by name: Today opened tomorrow shows the new day. For Date range and Time range, the selected dates are saved. The CSV gets the period boundaries as of the moment you click Export CSV ↓ («Экспорт CSV ↓») — for details, see Saved reports and CSV export.
