Settings: general parameters and bot lists

Which tabs the Settings section has and what the general parameters set: currency, S2S timeout, report attribution, PHP and bot lists.

The Settings («Настройки») section holds parameters shared by the whole installation: they apply to all campaigns and all users. The section is visible to the owner and the admin.

How to open the settings

  1. Click the Admin panel («Админ-панель») icon in the top right corner of the panel.
  2. Select Settings.

The General («Основные») tab opens. The section address is https://panel.example.com/settings. From the Status («Состояние»), Team («Команда») and Logs («Логи») pages, the Settings item in the bar above the section leads here.

The Backups and Updates tabs, key entry on the License tab and the IP2Proxy block work only for the installation owner, the account created in the first-run wizard.

The General tab

The tab has four parameters and a Save («Сохранить») button. After saving, the message “Saved” («Сохранено») appears above the fields for two seconds.

ParameterValuesDefault
Default currency («Валюта по умолчанию»)USD, can't be changedUSD
S2S timeout, sec («Таймаут S2S, сек»)An integer from 1 to 6010
Report attribution («Атрибуция отчётов»)By click date («По дате клика») or By conversion date («По дате конверсии»)By click date

Default currency

The tracker's reporting currency is USD: cost, revenue and profit in all reports are calculated in dollars. The field is shown for reference and can't be edited. Payouts that arrive in another currency are converted to USD at the rates from the Currencies tab, see Currencies and rates.

S2S timeout, sec

How many seconds the tracker allows for one send of an outgoing S2S postback, to a source or to a campaign recipient. This time covers both establishing the connection and waiting for the response. An integer from 1 to 60. If you clear the field or enter something other than digits, it shows 0, and that value won't be saved.

What happens when the time runs out:

  • the connection wasn't established: the tracker retries the send by itself;
  • the connection was established but no response came: the send gets the result “Receipt not confirmed” («Получение не подтверждено») and is not retried automatically, because the request may have arrived.

While the tracker waits for a response from one recipient, other sends wait their turn. Don't set the value higher than your slowest recipient needs.

The setting doesn't apply to Facebook Conversions API events. How the tracker sends outgoing postbacks is covered in S2S postback to the source.

Report attribution

Defines which date a report assigns conversions and revenue to:

  • By click date: the date of the click the conversion came from;
  • By conversion date: the date of the conversion itself.

Where the setting applies and how to choose attribution for a single report is covered in Period, time zone and attribution.

Allow PHP in hosted landing pages

The global switch for executing .php files in uploaded landing pages and offers. While the checkbox is cleared, a request to a .php file gets a 403 response, and a page folder opens through index.html. PHP modes and their limits are covered in PHP in hosted pages and network access.

Warning.

A cleared checkbox stops PHP on all hosted landing pages and offers of the installation. A page whose folder contains only index.php will stop opening.

Bot lists

Custom bot lists are on the Bots and GEO tab, below the IP2Proxy block. They add to the built-in check and apply to clicks of all campaigns: a matching click is marked as a bot.

FieldWhat to enterLimits
Bot UA — substrings (one per line) («Бот UA — подстроки (по одной на строку)»)A User-Agent fragment, for example MyScanner. Case-insensitiveUp to 10000 lines, each up to 512 bytes, which is 512 Latin characters
Bot IP / CIDR (one per line) («Бот IP / CIDR (по одному на строку)»)An address 203.0.113.10 or a subnet 203.0.113.0/24Up to 10000 lines
  1. Open Settings → Bots and GEO.
  2. Paste ready-made lists into the fields: one value per line.
  3. Click Save below the fields.

You'll see the message “Saved — will be applied to the engine within ~15s” («Сохранено — применится к движку в течение ~15с»). Both fields are saved together.

The field removes empty lines and leading and trailing spaces as you type. Pressing Enter at the end of the list doesn't start a new line, so paste the whole list at once.

How the tracker detects bots, how to check a list and why short substrings are risky is covered in Bot detection and custom bot lists.

When changes take effect

  • S2S timeout, sec: from the next postback send.
  • Report attribution: the next time a report is built.
  • Allow PHP in hosted landing pages and bot lists: within about 15 seconds after saving. No restart is needed.

A bot list applies only to new clicks: clicks already recorded aren't recalculated.

The General tab and the bot list block have separate Save buttons. Each one saves only its own fields.

Messages when saving

The error text appears above the fields and stays until the next save. Bot list messages, “Invalid IP/CIDR” («Некорректный IP/CIDR»), “Bot list: 10000 lines maximum” («Список ботов: максимум 10000 строк») and “Empty or too long bot list value” («Пустое или слишком длинное значение бот-листа»), are covered in Bot detection and custom bot lists.

Settings were changed in another tab. Refresh the page and repeat your edit.

This message («Настройки изменены в другой вкладке. Обновите страницу и повторите правку.») means that while you were changing parameters, the settings were saved by another admin or by you in another browser tab.

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Make your edits again.
  3. Click Save.

Settings saved, but the engine hasn't confirmed applying them yet. Refresh the page and save again.

This message («Настройки сохранены, но движок пока не подтвердил применение. Обновите страницу и повторите сохранение.») means the values are recorded, but the PHP checkbox and bot lists haven't been passed to the traffic handler yet.

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Click Save again.

Whether the tracker services are running is shown on the System status page.

S2S timeout: 1 to 60 seconds

This message («Таймаут S2S: от 1 до 60 секунд») means the S2S timeout, sec field contains 0, a fractional number or a number greater than 60. Enter an integer from 1 to 60.
