Quick start

Six steps from signing up on the site to a campaign that accepts traffic.

This page shows the whole launch path in order. Each step is described briefly, with details behind the links. You will need a server with Ubuntu 24.04, two domains and an email address.

Step 1. Get a trial key

  1. Sign up at micator.com/en/register. The password must be at least 12 characters.
  2. Confirm your email. How to confirm it is shown in the “Confirm your email.” message at the top of your account. Until you confirm, the trial button is inactive.
  3. In your account, click Try it for 14 days. The Licenses section opens with the card of the new license; its status is “Awaiting activation”.
  4. In the card, click Copy to copy a key like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

Getting the key does not start the clock: the 14 days count from the first activation on a server. The rules are on the Trial page; the steps with the account's labels are on the Getting a key and activation page.

Step 2. Prepare the server and domains

  1. Take a server with Ubuntu 24.04 (amd64): at least 2 CPUs, 4 GB of memory and 20 GB of free space. It must not have a web server or another tracker installation.
  2. Open inbound ports 80 and 443.
  3. Point the A records of two different domains to the server's IP: one for the panel (panel.example.com), the other for campaign links and postbacks (track.example.com).

Step 3. Run the installation

Run two commands on the server:

The installer downloads and verifies the release, prepares the server and prints a wizard link like http://203.0.113.10/setup/#key=…. The installation stages are on the Installation page.

Step 4. Complete the wizard in your browser

  1. Open the link with the code from the terminal.
  2. Fill in Panel domain («Домен панели»), Tracking domain («Домен трекинга») and Notification email («Email для уведомлений»).
  3. Click Check and continue («Проверить и продолжить»). The wizard checks the domains and turns on HTTPS — this may take a few minutes.
  4. Enter the Team name («Название команды»).
  5. Check the Owner login («Логин владельца») — admin by default.
  6. Come up with a password and enter it in the Password («Пароль») and Repeat password («Повторите пароль») fields — at least 12 characters. Write it down: the wizard does not save the password and will not show it later.
  7. Paste the key from step 1 into the License key («Ключ лицензии») field in the License («Лицензия») block.
  8. Click Launch tracker («Запустить трекер»).
  9. Wait for the “Tracker is ready” («Трекер готов») screen. The browser opens the login page automatically.

Step 5. Log in to the panel

  1. Open https://panel.example.com/login if the login page did not open automatically.
  2. Enter the owner's Login («Логин») and Password.
  3. Click Log in («Войти»).

The panel opens. The tracker activates the key entered in the wizard automatically. The state is shown in Settings → License («Настройки → Лицензия»): “License active” («Лицензия активна») and the “Trial” («Пробная версия») label. The Settings section opens through the Admin panel («Админ-панель») icon in the top right corner. Menu sections are described on the Panel overview page.

Step 6. Build your first campaign

  1. Create a traffic source: the Sources («Источники») section, the + Add («+ Добавить») button. Select a Source template («Шаблон источника»), enter a Name («Название») and click Create source («Создать источник»).
  2. Create an offer: the Offers («Офферы») section, the + Offer («+ Оффер») button. Enter a Name, paste the offer link from the affiliate network into the field of the Hosting («Хостинг») block and click Create offer («Создать оффер»).
  3. Create a campaign: the Campaigns («Кампании») section, the + Campaign («+ Кампания») button. Enter a Name and click Create campaign («Создать кампанию») — the campaign page opens.
  4. On the Source and parameters («Источник и параметры») tab, select the source in the “— no source —” («— без источника —») list and click Save parameters («Сохранить параметры»).
  5. On the Streams («Потоки») tab, click + Stream («+ Поток»).
  6. In the Action («Действие») field, select “Offer” («Оффер»).
  7. On the Rotation («Ротация») tab, click + Item («+ Элемент») and select the offer in the “— select —” («— выбрать —») list.
  8. Click Save stream («Сохранить поток»).

Check

  1. On the campaign page, in the Traffic link («Ссылка для трафика») block, click Copy («Копировать»).
  2. Open the link in a browser — the offer opens.
  3. Open the Campaigns section. A click appears in the campaign's Clicks («Клики») column — data arrives with a short delay.

If something went wrong

The installer or wizard stopped with a message

After logging in, the “Tracker access closed” («Доступ к трекеру закрыт») screen opened

The license is not active. Enter the key in the License key field on this screen and click Activate («Активировать»). If the key is not accepted, the reasons are covered on the Getting a key and activation page.

The campaign link returns 404

Check that the campaign has a stream and that an offer is selected on the stream's Rotation tab. Other reasons are on the First campaign page.
