From landing page to offer and multi-offer
How to put an offer link on a landing page, set the moment the offer is chosen and send visitors from one page to several offers.
The click-through from a landing page to an offer works in a stream with the Landing → offer funnel («Воронка ленд→оффер») action: the tracker shows the visitor the landing page and provides a click-through link like /clk?_t=…. This link takes the visitor to the offer, and the click-through is recorded as a landing page click. The Rotation («Ротация») tab of such a stream must have at least one landing page and one offer — see Rotation and split tests.
The click-through link
How you set it up depends on the type of the landing page. After the click-through, an external offer opens in the way chosen in its settings — see Delivery types. A hosted offer is shown right at the address of the click-through link.
Hosted landing page
Put the {offer} macro in the page code:
<a href="{offer}">Go</a>When the landing page is shown, the tracker replaces the macro with the click-through link. The {to} macro does the same.
The macro is replaced on the page that the tracker shows at the campaign link — that is the landing page's index.php or index.html. On other pages of the archive and in separate .js and .css files it stays as text.
External landing page
The tracker itself adds the to parameter with the full click-through link to the landing page address:
https://lp.example.com/?to=https%3A%2F%2Ftrack.example.com%2Fclk%3F_t%3D…The landing page must take the to value and put it in a button or a link.
Keitaro landing pages
In a hosted landing page of a funnel, the links /?_lp=1 and /?_lp=1&offer_id=ID are replaced with the click-through link automatically. The replacement works on the same page as the {offer} macro:
- in
hrefandactionattributes; - in JavaScript strings inside the HTML page.
The link must start with / and match one of the two variants exactly. Replace a link of any other form, for example ?_lp=1 without the slash, with the {offer} macro.
The ID in such a link can be the full Micator offer ID or its number. When migrating from Keitaro, the numbers are kept unless there is a conflict. A conflict must be resolved in the migration issues: do not substitute the number of another offer. Where to get the ID is explained in Multi-offer.
When the offer is chosen
The moment the offer is chosen is set by the When to choose the offer («Когда выбрать оффер») field. Only a stream with the Landing → offer funnel action has it, and it affects the choice if there are several offers in the rotation.
- Open the campaign on the Streams («Потоки») tab.
- Click the gear button on the stream card — the Stream settings («Настройки потока») window opens.
- On the General («Основное») tab, choose a value in the When to choose the offer field.
- Click Save stream («Сохранить поток»).
| Value | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before the landing page is shown · weights fixed on entry («До показа лендинга · доли фиксируются на входе») | The offer is chosen when the visitor enters the stream — by weight or by another selection mode. Its {offer_id}, {offer_name} and {offer_value:name} are available on the landing page. This is the default |
| After a click on the landing page · the choice is fixed before the redirect («После клика на лендинге · выбор фиксируется перед переходом») | The offer is chosen when the visitor follows the link — by weight or by another selection mode. On the landing page {offer_id}, {offer_name} and {offer_value:name} are empty |
The {offer:ID} link leads to the specified offer in both modes.
Multi-offer
A multi-offer is a landing page with several links, each leading to its own offer.
- Add all offers of the landing page to the Rotation tab of the stream.
- Open the Offers («Офферы») section.
- Click a number like
#12in the ID column — the full offer ID is copied to the clipboard. - Paste the ID into the
{offer:ID}macro on the landing page:
<a href="{offer:11111111-2222-3333-4444-555555555555}">Offer 1</a>
<a href="{offer:66666666-7777-8888-9999-000000000000}">Offer 2</a>The tracker inserts links like /clk?_t=…&offer_id=ID. On an external landing page, append &offer_id=ID to the link from the to parameter.
- The offer must be in the rotation of this stream and have the active («активен») status, otherwise the click-through returns 404.
- An offer with weight
0is not chosen by weight, but it opens through its own link — see Weight 0. - If the offer from the link has reached its daily sales cap or its click cap, the visitor gets a replacement — see Replacement order.
Offer values
You can give an offer its own values — for example, a price — and output them on the page or in a URL with the {offer_value:name} macro.
- In the Offers section, click values («значения») in the offer row.
- Click + Value («+ Значение»).
- Enter a name, for example
price, and a value, for example99$. - Click Save («Сохранить»).
Rows without a name are not saved. The {offer_value:price} macro returns the value of the chosen offer, and an empty string for a name the offer does not have. The other macros are on Macros in links and pages.
Offer pinning and link lifetime
- The first click-through pins the offer to the click. Postbacks and reports use this offer.
- Repeated click-throughs of the same click lead to the same offer, even through an
{offer:ID}link with the ID of another offer of the stream. - The click-through link is valid for 24 hours after the landing page is shown. After that it returns 404.
Pinning the offer for the visitor's next visits is described on Visitor binding.
Checking
- Open the campaign link in a browser.
- Click the click-through button on the landing page.
- Make sure the right offer opened.
- Open the Landing pages («Лендинги») section and find the landing page row in the LP clicks («LP клики») column.
The column counts clicks with a click-through to the offer. Repeated click-throughs of the same click do not increase the number.
If something went wrong
The link on the landing page still contains the text {offer}
- The landing page was opened at its direct address: with the Open ↗ («Открыть ↗») button in the editor or View («Просмотр») in the landing page list. The click-through link is inserted only when the visitor comes through the campaign link — see Direct addresses and preview.
- The macro is not in
index.phporindex.html, but on another page of the landing page or in a separate.jsfile.
The external landing page did not get the to parameter
- The landing page was opened with the View button or at its own address, not through the campaign link.
- The stream has the Landing page («Лендинг») action instead of Landing → offer funnel.
The click-through returns 404
- The stream has the Landing page action instead of Landing → offer funnel.
- More than 24 hours have passed since the landing page was shown.
- The offer from
{offer:ID}is not in the stream rotation, is paused or archived, or the ID is wrong. - All offers of the stream have reached their daily sales cap or click cap.
- The click-through link was changed or not copied in full.
A 404 response instead of the landing page
The stream rotation has no landing page or no available offer. Check the Rotation tab and the Campaign target diagnostics and monitoring block.
The click-through returns 503
The tracker temporarily could not record the click-through, check the offer cap or pin the offer choice. The response text is tracking temporarily unavailable or offer selection unavailable. Repeat the click-through in a few seconds. If the response repeats, open System status. If the offer has a click cap, open the offer window: if it shows “Counter lost. The offer is closed until a new count.” («Счётчик утрачен. Оффер закрыт до нового отсчёта.»), the 503 response will not go away by itself — see Counter lost.
